December activities

All of us are aware that this month holds many wonderful experiences. First Graders are the most excited, I think.

When the first Sunday of Advent comes along, they enjoy making the traditional Advent wreath from paper plates and construction paper. These are, hopefully, prayed with and "lighted" at home.

We have been working very hard on producing a Christmas presentation for the older members of St. Henry Parish who belong to our T.O.Y. (Together Old and Young) program.
Along with the invitations the children sent, they also made Christmas cards, and created bookmarkers as gifts.

In addition to all these extra fun things, the children have continued to progress in reading, math, science and social studies. In January formal spelling lessons will be introduced into the curriculum.

It is my hope and prayer that each of you will enjoy the peace and happiness that the Christmas season brings. The Sisters of Divine Providence join me in this wish!
