Progress in First Grade

Here we are at the end of another month of first grade! We have accomplished many things since last month.

Lent has begun and the class is doing something different each day to prepare for Easter. Today their Lenten practice was to "say a prayer for the peole of Haiti". Soon they will pray the Stations of the Cross in church.

Formal spelling lessons have begun.

Each student will read a book to the class. Some have already reached this goal.

They have started working on the teen facts in math.

They are doing a weather project for science.

They made land forms from clay in social studies.

It is a real pleasure for me to watch the growth and maturity of this class.
